Local leaders respond to recent rash of violence over last two months
“We live in a good community where good things happen, but sadly, when bad occurs, the bad seems to get more publicity.”
That was the response of Steve May, Education Director at Chad’s Hope Center when he was asked if the people in Manchester, or any place in Clay County feels or believes there is an increased threat following the recent violent acts seen in the county and around the country.
Timothy Guth was taken from a crawlspace above a closet after he was tasered twice. He was one of five suspects that were arrested by Kentucky State Police (KSP) this week. The other include: Angela Smith, Jo Short, Robert Isom and Rose Saylor.
Domestic dispute ends with double shooting
Air Helicopters flew out two Clay County men after a long standing domestic dispute erupted into a shootout at a home on Route 149 (Hector) August 27.
An ATV with a missing back wheel was found Monday evening that was reportedly used by a Clay County man who was discovered dead Friday. Funeral Services for Stephen Eddie Woods were conducted Monday at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
Larry D. Campbell, James Wright, Brian Roberts, Ruby Roberts and Elliott Westberry were arrested by Kentucky State Police (KSP) this week.
Robert C. Young, Jr., Angela K. Guth, Timothy L. Hoskins, James Jackson, Johnny Jewell and Randy Shane Jones are scheduled to appear before Circuit Judge Oscar Gayle House to be sentenced in Clay County Circuit Court Monday (August 31).
