The Clay County Sheriff’s Department got an early start on the 2015 Marijuana growing season when they stopped a grower in the middle of his summer planting and arrested Rodney Dodson age 46 of Manchester the following day.
Manchester Police Department (MPD) officers made several arrests this week on charges that include DUI, wanton endangerment and shoplifting.
No cheer challenge, girls basketball in the fall, no mandatory fees and an all-star football team are just a few of the major changes coming to Clay County Grade School Sports.
Schools will be allowed to spend up to $150 per student on cheer uniforms and judging will be moved back to the first round of the tournaments.
Each school will have two squads (5th/6th and 3rd/4th).
Grade school football will add kicking (punting and kickoffs).

Kentucky State Police (KSP) have arrested several suspects in cases ranging from burglary, murder and reckless driving.
Tony Sizemore age 45 of Hog Skin Road (Manchester) was placed under arrest after a Kentucky State Police investigation into a stolen ATV (Arctic Cat Side By Side).
Jessica Bowling-Hoskins has been promoted from her sales account position to Sales Manager at the Manchester Enterprise. She replaces Rodney Miller who is no longer with the Enterprise.
Newspaper Vice President Glenn Gray announced those changes Monday. Heather Mays has moved into the sales account position Bowling occupied.

Gray will also assume most of Miller’s general manager duties on an interim basis.
Local officials have ruled out foul play in the death of a Manchester man who was found at a cemetery Friday (May 22).
Clay County Circuit Court Judge Oscar Gayle House is scheduled to arraign Christopher Hubbard on rape and Rodney Wayne Bowling on murder charges Monday June 1.
The Clay County Board of Education has reached an agreement with Clay County School Superintendent Amon Couch and incoming Superintendent William Sexton that will allow Sexton to become the interim Superintendent Monday June 8.
