A Manchester man has been flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center after being hit in the head with a baseball bat. The disagreement on Collins-Gibson Road (off Highway 638) Saturday between two Clay County men sent both to the hospital and landed one of them in jail.

Middle school cheer places 7th at Nationals

The Clay County Middle School Cheer Team was all smiles while they posed for a photo during their trip to the UCA Nationals at Disney World. It was the first time the middle school has performed in the nationals. They earned 7th place.

The Clay County Middle School Cheer Team was all smiles while they posed for a photo during their trip to the UCA Nationals at Disney World. It was the first time the middle school has performed in the nationals. They earned 7th place.

Clay County Middle School cheer coaches Elisha Sester and Cameron Gregory both felt like they had a good competitive cheer squad this year. As the season progressed and the team started winning some competitions, they soon figured out they had a team worthy of competing for a national title.
