Barnes Given Leadership Award

Charles Barnes, a graduate of Oneida Baptist Institute, a life-long Kentucky Baptist who has been involved in the organization’s top levels of leadership for decades, has received the CP Leadership Award from the Kentucky Baptist Convention. Barnes has deep family roots in Kentucky Baptist life. His father, John Barnes, was a Baptist preacher, as was his grandfather, E.W. Barnes.

Gas price feud

Gas station owners in Clay County say they have received numerous threats from other owners and managers urging them to match their prices to other gas stations. The owners WYMT talked with asked not to be identified, but told us the threats started recently when they received a call from one owner telling them to match their prices with other stations in the area.

The Kentucky State Police, Post 11, London, which provides coverage for Clay County, will be conducting periodic traffic safety checkpoints at locations approved by the Kentucky State Police Policy and Procedures Manual.

Kentucky Football — What If?

(ATHENS, Ga.) — For all sad words of tongue and pen, the saddest are these, “It might have been.” When John Greenleaf Whittier authored those famous lines from his nineteenth century poem, he could have easily been referencing Kentucky’s 2017 football season. Although the Wildcats sported a glossy 7-3 record heading into Georgia, many in BBN found themselves still lamenting those heartbreaking last-second defeats from earlier in the year.
