Night Out for Crime Prevention

Tuesday, August 2 marks the 33rd Anniversary for the Annual National Night Out (NNO) crime and drug prevention event that will be held locally for the first time by the London Police Department at the London Laurel County Farmer’s Market from 6 to 8 PM. This night is designated for communities throughout America to stand together to promote awareness, safety and neighborhood unity. The community is invited to come out for a free, family friendly safe night out with food, games, giveaways, health screenings, and more.

Family of seven runs from law

Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Tommy Houston along with Sgt. Larry Parrott arrested Brandon Foutch, age 23, off Laurel River Road (London) on Ravenwood Circle after Houston attempted a traffic stop on a black Chevrolet Silverado who attempted to flee the traffic stop traveling approximately 1/2 mile in excess of 60 mph while driving recklessly through the residential neighborhood.

Criminal solicitation to commit kidnapping

A Corbin man was indicted by a Whitley County grand jury. Doyle L. Fox, 49, was named in a two-count indictment for charges involving a kidnapping that allegedly occurred on or about April 21. JailTracker records show that Fox was arrested in February for a probation violation. According to Whitley County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Tim Baker, the alleged actions occurred while he was incarcerated in the Whitley County Detention Center.
