CYC Youth Basketball

There will be a youth basketball league starting in November at the Christian Youth Center. Sign-up sheets will be available at most schools. Please try to sign up before November 10.

Once an ideal of how many will be involved the date for opening day will be announced. The league will be free to play for grades first through eighth.

Games will be played on Saturdays. Volunteers are needed for coaches and referees. If you are interested contact Mark Jackson 606-813-0818 or message him on facebook.

If any churches in the community would be interested in helping with transportation please contact Mark. Any help would be appreciated.

 

End of an Era

Clay County Sheriff Kevin Johnson and deputies cleaned out their evidence locker of the last of the bootlegged beet confiscated in Clay County. No bootlegging charges have been filed since Manchester went “wet”. Judge Joe Asher allowed the beer to be disposed of at the county garage. See a link to more photos at me.claylive.com.

Lowell Grubb has been chosen as the Clay County Fair Board President

A Clay County Fair Board was established Monday evening during a meeting at the Clay County Extension Office. Officers for the board will be: Lowell Grubb, President; Earl Owens, Vice-President; Patricia Grubb, Secretary; and Charles Stivers, CPA, Treasurer.

Bozo becomes new feature writer

The Manchester Enterprise would like to welcome “Bozo” Hacker as our newest feature writer. His first column can be found on page B-8 of the September 11 edition of The Manchester Enterprise.

Bozo has lived on Little Goose (with a grandfather) as well as East Manchester and Manchester.
