Mills dies in ATV accident; Whitesburg man killed on parkway
BENNIE MILLS was killed Sunday afternoon as his ATV went over an embankment on Buzzard Road pinning him against a tree. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Tragedy struck families in Clay and Letcher counties Sunday as two people died in separate accidents.

The community of Manchester is an official “Trail Town” thanks to its connections to local streams, forests and natural landmarks, Secretary Bob Stewart of the Tourism, Arts and Heritage announced Tuesday.

Manchester Police Department officers (MPD) made two arrests in the case of assault of a six-year-old.
BOBBY BARGER ran from police before being captured last week on abuse charges. He and the child’s are accused of abusing a six-year-old girl.
Bobby Barger tried to escape the charges by fleeing from police. The MPD posted his photo on Facebook and several tips led to him being arrested at a residence on Cole Hollow Road in the Beech Creek area of Manchester according to a their press release.
Lady Tiger golf team finishes fourth in region, best showing in school history at event

Lady Tiger golf reached a new plateau last week as for the first-time ever the team finished in the top 5 during the regional tournament at Burnside.

Amanda Bretz has never been a head coach, in any sport. The Tiger volleyball assistant got her chance Thursday night and came away with a victory over Knox Central.

The combination of a stingy defense, and a ground and pound running game led to an easy Knox Central win Friday, as the Panthers improved to 4-3 overall, but most importantly, 2-0 in district play, by knocking off struggling Clay County, 50-8.
