Farm Bureau Elects Board

The Kentucky Farm Bureau chose its leaders and outlined their priorities for the upcoming 2017 legislative session at their 97th annual statewide organizational meeting. Bige Hensley of Clay County will return to the KFB board. Members concluded the meeting with its board of directors approving priority issues for the upcoming 2017 legislative session.

UTILITY TRUCK OVERTURNS

UPDATE: 8:52 PM– No injuries reported by Lockard’s Creek Fire Department member at the scene.

Rescue personnel with the Locker’s Creek Fire and Rescue Squad are on the way to Granny’s Branch in response to a utility truck that’s overturned on Butterfly Hollow, according to dispatch reports.

It is unknown if any one is injured or trapped at this time.  We will keep you posted with further updates.web-break

Tevis Arrested on Assault Charges

Douglas Tevis, age 57 of Highway 770 (Corbin) was arrested on KY 770 after deputies were dispatched to a domestic violence complaint. Upon arrival deputies made contact with the female victim who advised there had been a verbal altercation that allegedly resulted in the victim being assaulted. Deputies noted redness on the victim’s hands consistent with the complaint.

UK Hoops — Little Sister, Big Sister

Little Sister, Big Sister—By John Huang

The KFC Yum Center in Louisville remains one of the nicest venues in all of college basketball. Completed in 2010, the state-of-the-art facility serves as the home of both the University of Louisville’s Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams. It just so happens that in this particular year, both games in the UK series will be played on the Cardinal’s home court, so I’m preparing for the pre-Christmas showdown between the men’s teams by scouting out the women’s contest three weeks earlier.
