Heart and Soul Pregnancy Center

The Heart and Soul Pregnancy Help Center is a non-profit affiliated with Heartbeat International and is located between Cumberland River Behavioral Health and Muddy Gap Baptist Church and serves Clay and surrounding counties. They provide services and support to individuals durning pregnancy regardless of their financial condition including free pregnancy testing, individualized prenatal and parenting eduction, baby and maternity supplies, parenting classes, community resource referrals, adoptive resources upon request and abortion recovery support. All services are free and confidential, If you would like more information or to have them speak to your organization call 606-599-8283 or visit heartandsoulpregnancy.com. Hours are Monday and Tuesday from 10 AM till 5 PM and Wednesday from 10 AM till 3 PM.

Across Kentucky over 279,000 youth ages 9 to 19 learn about leadership, citizenship and life skills in “learn-by-doing” experiences such as communications and public speaking, through agriculture projects like livestock judging, science projects with robotics, 4-H camp, Teen Conference, and many other 4-H programs and activities.

Circuit Clerks Trust For Life

Charlotte Wong with the Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates presented a check to Clay County ATC HOSA Chapter advisor Tammy Jones to help with travel expenses to the State Convention in March. CCHS student Mikila Goins was recognized for her work for the Kentucky organ donor registry at the office of Circuit Court Clerk James Phillips Friday.

Venable Charged With Burglary

Megan Venable, age 40 of Old Whitley Road (London) was arrested on McWhorter Road after deputies were dispatched to a complaint that Venable had broken into a residence of an elderly female victim while the victim was at home. The victim confronted the intruder and was told by the intruder that she had better not call the law. The suspect then fled the scene but was located about an hour later by officers and taken into custody. Venable was determined to be under the influence.
