Apprenticeship Program

Labor Secretary Derrick Ramsey joined officials from Phillips Diversified Manufacturing in Annville to announce the creation of a new apprenticeship program. This three-year welding apprenticeship program comes on the heels of another eastern Kentucky apprenticeship announcement from American Metal Works last week. Together, these programs represent an on-going effort to strategically cultivate more skilled labor in eastern Kentucky.

Gospel Meeting

Pine Grove Church of Christ Summer 2017 Gospel Meeting will be held July 14-16 at the church on Highway 472. Alan Cornett will be the speaker. Everyone is invited and welcomed to attend Friday and Saturday at 7 PM. Sunday meetings will be held at 10 AM, 11 AM and 5 PM.

Holiday Closings

Johnny Johnson, Clay County Judge/Executive has proclaimed Monday July 3 and Tuesday July 4 as observed holidays. The Clay County Administration Building will be closed both days. Manchester City Hall and the Clay County Judicial Building will be closed Tuesday. The Manchester Enterprise will be closed Monday July 3. We remind our columnist to have their article in by Friday.

Fireworks

Red Bird Volunteer Fire and Rescue 4th of July Free Fireworks show will be held Friday, June 30 beginning at dusk. The rain date is Saturday July 1st. The show will honor fallen firefighter Rodney Collett.

The Manchester City Fireworks is scheduled for Tuesday July 4 at Rawlings and Stinson Park.
