Smith files Memorandum

Terry R. Smith has filed an 89 page Memorandum of points, and authorities in support of motion for collateral relief in the United States District Court in London. Smith is currently severing a life sentence in a West Virginia federal prison. Smith also presented several statements and affidavits in support of his memorandum. Panco Adds Ark

The Panco Community Church in Clay County has added a new aspect to their playground, a large 30-foot ark. Jerry Rice, the pastor at the church said this does more than just provide a place for families to come, it helps keep them out of drugs, a big problem in the area.

Rice receives WKU award


Meghan Rice

Bowling Green, Kentucky – Western Kentucky University undergraduate students Meghan Rice, Amanda Poole, and Tradesha Chatman were honored in their University Experience classes for winning undergraduate research awards. Rice, a first-year student from Manchester, Kentucky, received the award for her annotated resource list based on the TED talk “How I learned to communicate my inner life with Asperger’s” by Alix Generous. Her instructor was Fallon Willoughby.

KYTC prepared for winter

Thoughts of snow and ice may be far from the minds of Kentuckians with warm temperatures hovering over the state, but the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is sounding the battle cry “Winter is Coming” to alert motorists to prepare for the impending wintery conditions. The KYTC stands ready to tackle the elements with sharpened plow blades, stocked salt supplies and trained maintenance crews.
