The Clay County Tiger Academics Team is the 13th Region champion for the second year in a row.
The February 19 sentencing date that was set for the Clay 5 has been rescheduled until Friday, March 7 at 10 a.m. in Lexington for former Clay County Circuit Judge, Russell Cletus Maricle; former Superintendent, Douglas C. Adams; former County Clerk, Freddy W. Thompson; former Democratic election commissioner, Charles W. Jones; and former election officer William E. Stivers.
On Monday, Israel Miller 40, of Manchester, was arrested at the Clay County Courthouse where he was to appear in count for an earlier arrest. After Miller removed the contents of his pockets at the security desk and passed through the metal detector an alarm went off.
Clay County is joining the “421-Yard Sale”, stretching over 100 miles along US Highway 421. Judge Joe Asher signed the proclamation Tuesday evening to proclaim the event.
Senate President Robert Stivers (R-Manchester) welcomed members of Stay in Clay group, Manchester Mayor George Saylor, city council members and constituents to the Capitol on Wednesday, February 12.
