Residents along Kentucky Highway 1482 are raising concerns about road maintenance in the Bull Skin community.

The Kentucky Department of Highways is currently in negotiations with the coal companies, who’s coal hauling has been one source of the damage.

Manchester Makes First Beer Sales

As of Monday, Stop N’ Shop’s Marathon Head Manager IJ Mann says the store has sold more than 1,400 cases of beer in less than two days.

Employees there say customers have come from Clay, Laurel, Leslie, and other areas to buy their beer, since their license was issued Friday evening.

An emergency situation led to a lockdown at Goose Rock Elementary Friday evening.

While tending to the situation, the Clay County Sheriff’s Department made several arrests in the Sandhill area. Police officials are referring to Friday’s events as “the Sandhill Saga”.
