Clay Smoking Rate Highest In The United States

We’re #1, but it’s nothing to brag about.
The smoking rate in Clay County is rated highest in the United States, according to the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation’s analysis.  The New York Times visited Clay County last week and wrote an article about our poor smoking habit.

Inmate Walks Off From Jail Work Release

Jamie Vaughn 39, from Bimble, Ky, is still on the loose. Vaughn, who is serving his 5-year sentence in Clay County Detention Center, walked off from work release last week, according to Jailer Kenny Price. Price said that Vaughn was anxious to get to his pregnant girlfriend.

Attempted Pharmacy Break-In

Police say, Matthew Wolfe, 32 of Manchester is lodged in the Clay County Detention Center after he admitted that he tried to break into the Clay Community Pharmacy in the Clay County Shopping Center, to get him some suboxin.
