The high-speed chase lasted a total of 38 minutes according to City Police Chief Chris Fultz and a total of 17 cruisers involved. A ford F-150 driven by William Muncy, 55 of Manchester failed to stop at a road check conducted by Laurel County Sheriff’s Department and KSP on Hwy 30 in Laurel County late Saturday night.
In the city council meeting Monday night Mayor George Saylor asked the City Council to think about using part of the CD that the city had to fix the pool this year. Saylor said in order to get it fixed for this year that was the only option they had.

Clay County Coroner Danny L. Finley reports the Clay County Coroner's Office currently has eight ongoing death investigations. Two of the deaths, Jonathan Pernell Jones and Hershel “Buzz-Saw” Stanfield, were in the same family. Jones and Stanfield were both sons of the late Johnny Ray Jones.
Officials now are searching for answers as to if and how these deaths are connected. Meanwhile, parents, husbands, wives and loved ones grieve over the immenseness of these untimely deaths that rocked the county last week.
