Jackson Energy customers will see a $2 per month increase on their electric bills beginning in April as a result of a recent decision by the Kentucky Public Service Commission. The revenue increase is the first for Jackson Energy since 2008. The increase is only in the monthly customer charge and does not affect the kilowatt-hour charge.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. for Nathan Delmas Jackson, 22 of Big Creek after he was killed in an auto accident on Highway 66 near Little Creek. It was the second tragedy in less than a week for Clay County .

Funeral Services for Jasmine Charity Faith Collins, 7, were held Saturday at Rominger Funeral Home. There was a huge crowd on hand to pay their respects to the deceased and the family. Steve May delivered the eulogy. Jasmine was laid to rest Sunday at the Smith-Sizemore family cemetery in Bar Creek.
Terry L. Tiggemann, 57, from Louisville, was arrested early Friday morning and lodged in the Clay County Detention center and was charged with trafficking 1st methamphetamine, trafficking 1st prescription drugs and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
The Clay County Sheriff’s department received an anonymous tip that led them to a meth bust at the residence of Christopher Gregory, 49, on Hwy 80 at the top of Big Hill Sunday. Thelma Sue Henson, 46, who had the same address, was also arrested at the residence.
