Hospice of the Bluegrass announced today that it is changing staff caseloads to increase the availability of nurses to patients and families. This move will create 10-12 additional nursing positions by early next year. Unfortunately, the move will mean the elimination of up to 20 social work positions across the state in Hospice’s 32 county service area.

Fiscal Court Votes No to Control Ordinance
County Attorney Clay Massey Bishop Jr. gave the first reading the Animal Control Ordinance Wednesday. Fiscal Court members voted it down.
The fate of the Clay County Animal Shelter is in the air after the Clay County Fiscal Court voted “no” to the first reading of an animal control ordinance that would bring them in compliance with the state.
The call to come into compliance with state law was initiated a little over a year ago, when a local citizen on behalf of the Humane Society filed a lawsuit against the former County Judge-Executive and administration.
