Appalachian Wireless Announces their Scholarship Program for 2012

Fiscal Court Votes No to Control Ordinance
County Attorney Clay Massey Bishop Jr. gave the first reading the Animal Control Ordinance Wednesday. Fiscal Court members voted it down.
The fate of the Clay County Animal Shelter is in the air after the Clay County Fiscal Court voted “no” to the first reading of an animal control ordinance that would bring them in compliance with the state.
The call to come into compliance with state law was initiated a little over a year ago, when a local citizen on behalf of the Humane Society filed a lawsuit against the former County Judge-Executive and administration.

Tax collection season is in full swing at the City and County departments, and the two percent discount for property taxes will end soon, say officials.According to the Sheriff’s Office and City Hall, November the 30th is the last day for the 2 percent discount on property taxes.
Former Manchester Woman Arrested on ‘Black Friday’
A former Manchester woman was arrested Friday for allegedly involving her 10-year-old child in shoplifting from Belk in Richmond Centre.According to a report in the Richmond Register, Richmond police arrested Tammy Bray, 35, for theft by unlawful taking over $500, receiving stolen property over $500, second-degree unlawful transaction of a minor and third-degree possession of a controlled substance.
