EKU, Midway College School of Pharmacy Sign Guaranteed Admission Agreement

Eastern Kentucky University and the Midway College School of Pharmacy have signed an articulation agreement by which up to 10 qualified EKU pre-pharmacy students will be guaranteed positions at the newly established Midway pharmacy school each academic year.

Camp Lejeune Water and Fred Jackson

Fred Jackson joined the United States Marine Corps September 1, 1971. In keeping with Corps tradition, recruits from this area attend boot camp training at Paris Island, South Carolina. After they discovered that Fred was a highly skilled marksman, he was assigned to Camp Lejeuene, North Carolina, as a rifle range instructor. He served in this capacity for almost one year.

District Court Judges Participate in District Judges College Oct. 18-21 in Frankfort

District Court Judges Henria Bailey-Lewis and Renee Muncy, who serve Clay, Jackson and Leslie counties, participated in the 2011 Kentucky District Judges College that took place Oct. 18-21 at the Administrative Office of the Courts in Frankfort. The AOC provided the judicial education program for the state’s District Court judges.

REMEMBERING CLAY COUNTY VETERANS

Veterans, especially those from Clay County, are to thank for the freedoms we exercise every day. Men and women in uniform sacrifice every day for those freedoms, and every year on November 11, Veterans Day provides the opportunity for us to thank them, and recognize their sacrifice.

It began as Armistice Day, or Remembrance Day. It is the anniversary of the singing of the Armistice that ended World War I.
