A month and a half long investigation into recent thefts from the State Highway Garage led to the arrest of Joseph Slone Monday.
Slone, 27, of Manchester, was charged with two counts of third degree burglary and theft by unlawful taking, says Sheriff Kevin Johnson.
Early in October, Kentucky State Police received a report that various items had been stolen from the State Highway Garage. More than a week ago, the State Highway Department reported even more tools missing, says Sheriff Johnson.
A spokesperson with Walgreen’s said they were not looking at bringing a Walgreen’s to Manchester Tuesday.
“We have nothing slated for that area at this time,” said Robert Elfinger, the Media Relations person with Walgreens.
Sources had indicated that Walgreens was interested in buying property here, but Walgreens denies their interest in the area.
