Two former Manchester City Police Officers and several others were arrested for drug trafficking charges Tuesday.
Manchester City Police Department along with the Clay County Sheriff’s Department, Kentucky State Police, Operation UNITE and the US Marshall Service executed 16 indictments in the early morning hours in Manchester and Clay County.
Scotty Sandlin, 37, of East Manchester and Randal Dodson, 48, of Manchester, both served as Manchester City Police Officers in early 2000.
The two were charged with trafficking in a controlled substance first degree.
“There have been 40 drug related deaths in Clay County, and a total of 85 Coroner calls this year. While some of them may have had alcohol, meth, or other drugs in their systems, 100 percent of drug-related deaths have involved prescription drugs,” says Coroner Danny L. Finley.
