Lipps Has Stand Off with Police
A Manchester man has been charged with kidnapping and unlawful imprisonment after a stand off early Tuesday morning with police.Lloyd Kevin Lipps, 37, was apprehended by Clay County Sheriff’s Deputies around 1:30 PM, after an hour of holding a woman and six-year-old child in a locked bedroom with a gun.
Hillebrandt Rape Case Pushed to December
A jury trial for Jeffrey Hillebrandt, 62, will not be set until December 5.

17 Arrested in Operation Avalanche
The first phase of a countywide drug bust was carried out throughout this week, resulting in the arrest of seventeen accused drug dealers.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Department is calling it Operation Avalanche, as part of an effort to crack down on illegal drug trafficking in the county.
Like an avalanche, charges ranging from possession to manufacturing methamphetamine came down on the accused Thursday, as a result of several months of undercover investigations, says Clay County Sheriff Kevin Johnson.
State Says Negotiations Underway for KY 1482 Repairs
Residents along Kentucky Highway 1482 are raising concerns about road maintenance in the Bull Skin community.The Kentucky Department of Highways is currently in negotiations with the coal companies, who’s coal hauling has been one source of the damage.
