The Manchester City Council passed an incentive program ordinance and voted down an ordinance that would allow the Sheriff to collect city taxes.
The city council voted to approve the City Officials Incentive Program Ordinance, which will allow for incentives to be given to city officials who attend training sessions relating to city government.
Councilman Terry Wilson asked for the council to consider renaming Circle Lane, a Manchester Street, “Zach Lewis Pass”.
A Manchester girl saved a dog’s life last week.
Kimmy Deaton, 23, of Manchester, is an animal fan. She can often be seen walking her own dog, Sandy, around town. Rain or shine, she and Sandy walk every day.
It was an average day for Deaton on Friday, October 14, when she heard a commotion outside her house.
“It sounded similar to a dogfight. I got in my car and drove around the neighborhood, but I never could find the source,” says Deaton. Deaton says she heard more noise later that day, and went outside to see what the fuss was about.
On Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at approximately 9:36 PM, the Kentucky State Police, Post 11 London, received a report of an Assault at a residence on Curry Branch Road in Clay County.
Upon investigation into the incident KSP Detective Donald Wilson determined that Jamie Scott Abner, 40, of Clay County was at the residence of Roy Glenn Wagers, 36, when an altercation began.
