Clay County High Schools composite ACT scores for last year’s junior class increased slightly over the previous year, according to numbers released last week from the Kentucky Department of Education.
The Clay County School Board has been discussing some ideas, that if they happen, could mean major changes within the schools.

State Auditor Adam Edelen today released a review of the Cumberland Valley District Health Department (CVDHD) that found internal controls, management and board oversight are lacking.
A doctor in another part of Kentucky wrote prescriptions for 41,165 pills to 197 Clay Countians during May, June and July of this year, according to Clay County Sheriff Kevin Johnson.
A review of the last five audits of the Cumberland Valley District Health Department shows that in Fiscal Year 2010-2011 the district was hit with an expenditure of $1,441,860, for which it had only budgeted $392,931.
