The Clay County Sheriff’s Department is calling it Operation Avalanche, as part of an effort to crack down on illegal drug trafficking in the county.
Like an avalanche, charges ranging from possession to manufacturing methamphetamine came down on the accused Thursday, as a result of several months of undercover investigations, says Clay County Sheriff Kevin Johnson.
The Kentucky Department of Highways is currently in negotiations with the coal companies, who’s coal hauling has been one source of the damage.
