1962 murder of sheriff may be solved
The 42-year-old murder of Clay County Sheriff James ‘Matt” Sizemore has apparently been solved. A Clay County Grand Jury today indicted Oran Brumley, 61, for the June 1, 1969 ambush of the then 52-year-old lawman. Brumley, a native of Clay County, was known locally as Owen, not Oran.
Every morning “Jimbo” Lyttle would get up, get dressed, and make coffee. He would then go into the bedroom and wake up his wife, Sharon, by grabbing her toe and saying, “It’s time to get up momma.”
The Kentucky Office of Safety and Health (KYOSH) is investigating the Friday night death of Manchester city worker Victor Gilbert.
