Somerset girl dies here

A 16-year-old girl from Somerset died Saturday around noon at a residence on Ham Hollow.

Assistant Clay County Coroner Jarrod Becknell said he could not give any other details at this time, except to identify her as Jamie Lee Biers.

According to the Rominger Funeral Home, Jamie Lee Biers was born October 27, 1995 in Whitley County.  She was a student, and just finished her sophomore year at Southwestern High School in Pulaski County.

Clay County Coroner Danny Finley said that the body was taken to the state medical examiners’ office in Frankfort for “further pending investigation.”

Funeral services were scheduled for Wednesday with burial in the Manchester Memorial Gardens.
