Over $2 million is owed in Clay County for child support, and local officials are pulling out the stops to get the money collected.
Bernice Wagers Collins, 30 of KY 11 North, died last Friday as the result of injuries received in a one-vehicle accident on KY 11 North.
Two Clay County brothers are to be arraigned Monday, February 6, in Clay Circuit Court on charges of sodomy and sexual abuse with a person less than 12 years of age.
Kentucky Mountain Housing awarded PNC Foundation Grant
Kentucky Mountain Housing Development Corporation (KMHDC) has been awarded a grant by the PNC Foundation in the amount of $7,500. The funds will, in turn, be awarded to one or more households to assist with providing either new construction or home rehabilitation services. Additionally, the funds will be awarded to the household(s) in the form of a grant and will serve as subsidy for the cost of the services that the household receives.
Clay County Magistrate Hugh Gregory said Thursday that his fifth district is not getting the amount of roadwork that the other five districts are getting.
Speaking during the fiscal court’s regular monthly meeting, Gregory said that he is receiving complaints by his constituents that other districts are getting more work. “I think the fifth district needs to get caught up before more is done for the others,” he said.
