Local physician charged with producing child pornography

Manchester physician Dr. Kishore Jadhav made his first appearance in federal court Monday afternoon after being arrested for allegedly producing pornography involving a minor.

Jadhav appeared before U. S. Magistrate Judge Hanly A. Ingram in London, where he was advised of his rights, and then remanded to the custody of the U. S. marshal.

Ingram set a preliminary hearing for Wednesday, April 25, with a detention hearing to follow.

The complaint and affidavit in the case have been sealed to protect the victim’s identity, and to avoid compromising the on-going investigation, a court document said.

In a press release, Kentucky State Police in London said they had undertaken an investigation, along with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, on March 29 into alleged sexual abuse by a local physician.

Last Friday, during a follow-up investigation, the FBI and KSP determined that Dr. Jadhav had produced pornography involving a minor.

He was arrested and charged by the FBI with one count of production of child pornography.

He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Police said the investigation is continuing to determine if there are additional victims.
