Authorities from Lexington were led to Manchester in the arrest of a man alleged in the murder of a 74-year-old navy veteran.
Closing arguments came down in a two-day murder trial for Oran Brumley, accused in the 1969 slaying of Sheriff J. Matt Sizemore.
Testimony over the last two days revealed Brumley was a man who spent 47 of his 63 years behind bars for various crimes, including murder.
Now it is up to a jury to decide the guilt or innocence of a man who is already serving a life-sentence for attempted murder in Ohio.
In a recorded statement given to Kentucky State Police Detective Jeff Senters and played before jurors, Brumley admitted to killing the then-Sheriff, a crime he said he was paid $200 to commit.
