On April 23, 1955, he was married to the former Callie Metcalf in Jellico, Tennessee, and she survives. Mr. King retired from Samuel Bingham Rollers of Cincinnati, Ohio, and was a member, former pastor and current Sunday School teacher of the Scipio United Baptist Church of Scipo, Ohio.
Besides his wife, Callie, he is survived by daughters, Brenda (Stan) Sumner and Linda (Harry) Keith, all of Brookville, Jona King of Middletown, Ohio, and Christina Zeinner of West Harrison; a sister, Ruth Tincher of Mt. Orab, Ohio; brothers, Dennis King of Goshen, Ohio, Blaine and James King, both of Mt. Orab, Ohio, and Denver, Leonard Dale, and Darrell King, all of Clay County, Kentucky; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Roger Lee King; two sisters, Lola Miles and Lydia Boggs; and three brothers, Paul, Isaac and Earl King.
Funeral services were held at 1 PM Monday, September 26th, at the Scipio United Baptist Church with James House and Ernie Murray officiating. Burial followed in Maple Grove Cemetery with family members serving as pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Cook Funeral Home of Brookville was in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by the following children: Carlie Sandlin Jones, Brookville, Indiana, Donnie Jones, Scottsburg, Indiana, Martin Jones & Darlene Cox, both of Kinkaid, Noah Jones, Keavy, KY, Mary Martha Gregory, London & Phurbia Bessie Strenger, West Harrison, Ohio.
She was preceeded in death by her son, Shirley Jones.
She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, & 1 sister, Bertha Smith, West Harrison, Indiana.
Funeral services for Tamsy Jones were held Wednesday at 12:00 noon at the Little Goose Baptist Church with Cecil Benge & Donnie Jones officiating. Burial will follow at the Little Goose Cemetery at Urban.
Visitation will be after 6:00 PM Monday at the Britton Funeral Home & after 12:00 noon Tuesday at her home.
