Corbin – Following two disappointing losses in the Fayette County Invitational, Coach Robert Marcum’s Clay County Tigers put together a strong second half performance to down Laurens County, South Carolina 64-55 Tuesday night in the first round of the Cumberland Falls Invitational at Corbin.
The win snapped a two-game losing skid for the Tigers after disappointing losses to Henry Clay and Tates Creek.

Much like their Tiger counterparts, Coach James “Ivy” Burchell’s Clay County Lady Tiger basketball team rebounded from a two-game losing skid, defeating Rowan County 59-38 Tuesday night in the first round of the Gateway Holiday Classic in Montgomery County.
The win was bittersweet for the Lady Tigers, avenging a 48-31 loss to Rowan County in last year’s Sweet 16 State Tournament.
