The running duo of seventh graders Will Sexton and Lonnie Braden combined for all 28 of their Raider team’s points last Thursday night, en route to a 28-0 shutout victory over North Laurel at Tiger Stadium.

County’s Top Three Teams Breeze Through Tuesday Night Games

Clay County’s top three ranked elementary school football teams proved their rankings were no fluke, as #1 Goose Rock, #2 Burning Springs, and #3 Hacker each cruised to double-digit victories Tuesday night at Tiger Stadium.

Goose Rock quarterback Jonah Hinkle gets tackled by a Paces Creek defender during Tuesday night's elementary school action.  Hinkle helped guide top-ranked Goose Rock to a 28-0 win over #6 Paces Creek.

Halfway There

With Tuesday night’s elementary school football games in the books, the regular season is halfway through.

At the halfway mark, the consensus number-one team in the county has to be Coach Martin Bowling’s Goose Rock Rockets.

‘The Rock’ is the only undefeated team in the county, led by sixth-grade running back Austin Braden.

Raider Football Team Falls to Northern Pulaski

It was a long night on the road for the Clay County Middle School Raider football team, as both the seventh and eighth grade teams fell to host Northern Pulaski Monday night.

Lady Raiders Knock Off Corbin

Coach Jimmy Dezarn’s Clay County Middle School Lady Raider eighth grade team picked up a huge win Thursday night, upsetting Corbin 46-39 at Clay County.

The Lady Redhounds had not lost a game this season, with only one loss coming in the last year, falling in the KBA State Championship last season.

The Lady Raiders jumped out to an 18-13 lead at the end of one, leading to a 28-21 lead at the half.
