Walgreens Says They’re Not Looking

Short Says He’s Not Selling

A spokesperson with Walgreen’s said they were not looking at bringing a Walgreen’s to Manchester Tuesday.

“We have nothing slated for that area at this time,” said Robert Elfinger, the Media Relations person with Walgreens.

Sources had indicated that Walgreens was interested in buying property here, but Walgreens denies their interest in the area.

Stivers Working on Legislation to Regulate “Pill Mills”

As highlighted in Sunday’s Herald-Leader, Senate Majority Leader Robert Stivers (R-Manchester) is working in a bipartisan way with officials from the Executive Branch as well as other fellow senators and representatives to develop legislation to regulate the licensing of pain-management clinics.

Save A Lot Donates Food

Save-A-Lot stores in Clay County donated hundreds of food items to the school board to be distributed to needy families throughout Clay County Friday. This is the fourth year that Save-A-Lot has made their charitable contribution to the Youth Service Centers in Clay County Schools, so that kids and their families will be sure to eat on Thanksgiving. Members of the Manchester and Clay County Youth Service Centers gladly accepted the donations from Save-A-Lot Fall Rock Manager Anthony Hinkle and Garrard Manager Jim Howard.
