El Cazador receives Beer and Mixed Drink Licenses

El Cazador Manager, Pancho Sanchez and Jasus Lazano received the Mixed Drink and Beer License for their restaurant Thursday afternoon. 

Sanchez says,"Beer will likely be served begining Friday evening."

Mixed drinks and other drinks will be served after their bar is set up, which will be in less than a week.

City Executes Pre-Christmas Sweep

Five Arrested for Trafficking, More Arrests to Be Made

A pre-Christmas sweep was executed by the Manchester City Police Department beginning Wednesday, and has been on going throughout the week.

City Police Chief Chris Fultz says the five arrests were made after weeks of investigation and help from Operation UNITE, in regards to the sale of drugs within the city limits.

“There will plenty more arrests and indictments to come as we continue to investigate,” says Chief Fultz.

According to Fultz, those arrested included Brenda Eversole, 36, trafficking a controlled substance second degree; Paul Fisher, 65, charged with trafficking a controlled substance, second degree; Bill Smith Jr., 44, charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense and persistent felony offender, second degree; Harvey Gibbs, 50, charged with trafficking a controlled substance second degree; and Mark Prilaman, 49, charged with trafficking a controlled substance, second degree, and trafficking a controlled substance, third degree.

All of those detained are Manchester residents.

Wagers Passes After Days on Life-Support

A death investigation is under way for a young woman who died after five days on life support.

Felicia Wagers, 25, of Manchester, was found at an acquaintance’s house, unresponsive, on December 19, according to Kentucky State Police.

Assistant Pastor to Recover from Tree Stand Fall

Todd Hicks, Assistant Pastor at Manchester Pentecostal Church, is expected to recover after a serious fall from a tree stand Monday.

Hicks was taken to UK Hospital after his fall, where he underwent surgery.
