Two young Clay County men will not be arraigned until Wednesday after stealing a truck from a construction site on Elk Mountain.

Dewey Smith, 21, and Joey Lee Sizemore, 20, were charged with theft by unlawful taking over $10,000 and criminal mischief.

According to Sheriff Kevin Johnson, the foreman of the Elk Mountain next exit construction site showed up to the job site early Wednesday morning and noticed a deuce and a half truck was not where it should’ve been. The foreman could hear the truck running, and when he located it, saw someone was driving it when there shouldn’t have been.

Police Say Few DUI’s from New Year’s Eve

City to Crack Down on No Insurance Drivers

New Years Eve celebrations had little affect on the city and county’s arrest reports over the weekend, says Police Chief Chris Fultz.

“New Year’s Eve went relatively smooth for us, with very few DUI incidents,” says Chief Fultz.

According to Fultz, there were only three DUI arrests made in the city. Two of those DUI arrests, Fultz says, were attributed to drugs.
