The United States Postal Service announced earlier this year that the Horse Creek community post office was in consideration for closing.

Members of the community who rely on the post office’s services met with Area Manager Mike Thompson to plead their case.

“Projections for the future are bleak. Post Offices are facing a major economic crisis. We’ve seen a $43 billion decline in the last five years, and another 20 percent decline in the next four,” said Thompson.
