New Years Eve celebrations had little affect on the city and county’s arrest reports over the weekend, says Police Chief Chris Fultz.
“New Year’s Eve went relatively smooth for us, with very few DUI incidents,” says Chief Fultz.
According to Fultz, there were only three DUI arrests made in the city. Two of those DUI arrests, Fultz says, were attributed to drugs.

A pre-Christmas sweep was executed by the Manchester City Police Department beginning Wednesday, and has been on going throughout the week.
City Police Chief Chris Fultz says the five arrests were made after weeks of investigation and help from Operation UNITE, in regards to the sale of drugs within the city limits.
“There will plenty more arrests and indictments to come as we continue to investigate,” says Chief Fultz.
According to Fultz, those arrested included Brenda Eversole, 36, trafficking a controlled substance second degree; Paul Fisher, 65, charged with trafficking a controlled substance, second degree; Bill Smith Jr., 44, charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense and persistent felony offender, second degree; Harvey Gibbs, 50, charged with trafficking a controlled substance second degree; and Mark Prilaman, 49, charged with trafficking a controlled substance, second degree, and trafficking a controlled substance, third degree.
All of those detained are Manchester residents.

Felicia Wagers, 25, of Manchester, was found at an acquaintance’s house, unresponsive, on December 19, according to Kentucky State Police.
