Williams-Farmer Carries Clay; Falls to Beshear

Clay Sees 20 Percent Turnout in Governor Election

Precinct workers Betty Smith Meredith and Beverly Robinson saw only 108 voters turnout from East Manchester Tuesday.

Republican Governor Candidate David Williams and Lt. Candidate Richie Farmer carried Clay County with 1,602 votes to Democratic Governor Candidates Steve Beshear and Jerry Abramson’s 1,010 votes.

Despite the heavy pull for Williams-Farmer in Clay and Eastern Kentucky, it was not enough to pull out a win statewide.
