Miller Arrested At Courthouse

On Monday, Israel Miller 40, of Manchester, was arrested at the Clay County Courthouse where he was to appear in count for an earlier arrest. After Miller removed the contents of his pockets at the security desk and passed through the metal detector an alarm went off.

First Annual 421-Yard Sale

Clay County is joining the “421-Yard Sale”, stretching over 100 miles along US Highway 421. Judge Joe Asher signed the proclamation Tuesday evening to proclaim the event.

Judge Answers Accusations Over Pool Repair Money

Coal Severance Money Spent According To Fiscal Court Priority List

Last week a story was ran in the Manchester Enterprise were the city council was claiming that in 2012, $75,000 was appropriated by Senator Robert Stivers from Coal Severance Taxes to repair the Beech Creek swimming pool had been not given to the city by the fiscal court.

Attempted Holdup At Speedway

Matthew D. Hensley, 47, of Oneida was arrested on Friday when he walked into the Speedway located on 421 and yelled to everyone in the store to, “Get on the ground. This is a holdup,” according to assistant chief of city police, Patrick Robinson.
