Five-year-old Blake Cohorn, of Lexington, the son of Wendi Estep-Cohorn and Rocky Cohorn, former residents of Clay County, was declared dead at the scene of the wrong-way accident that happened in Woodford County. Wendi and Rocky were both taken to the UK Hospital.
Ten defendants, Eugene Slone, Ruth Beckner, Larry Smith, Angela Smith, Danville Little, Malla McCown, Curtis Venters, Tony Short, Amanda Short and Jason Sparkman, implicated in a drug ring and subsequent murder plot involving two cooperating witnesses have moved for a speedy trial, according to a motion filed recently.
Couch makes right call, says Samples
After a long night of thunder, lightning and rain, things quieted down a bit early Wednesday morning. “There were no storm warnings from the National Weather Station,” said Superintendent Reecia Samples, “so school resumed at the usual time.”
