Manchester March Honors Martin Luther King Day

Dozens gathered at St. Paul A.M.E. Church on Town Branch to march through downtown Manchester in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Several people held decorated signs during the march through downtown on MLK Jr. Day.

County Meets for First Fiscal Court with New Judge, Magistrates

The Clay County Fiscal Court met for the first time this year Thursday, with new County Judge-Executive Joe Lewis Asher, and Magistrates Jimmy “Jimbo” Lyttle, Price Hoskins, Sonny Gay, Hugh Gregory, Randall Wagers, and Johnny Johnson.

County Clerk Mike Baker called roll for a motion at County Judge/Executive Joe Lewis Asher’s first Fiscal Court meeting this year.

Bus Passes Will No Longer Be Issued, Says Superintendent

Starting this month, Clay County school principals (grades kindergarten - 12th grade) will no longer be signing or issuing bus passes for students to allow them to go somewhere different than where they normally go.

Manchester Enterprise “Valentine Love Letters”

There is nothing in this world more wonderful and powerful as love. The Manchester
Enterprise wants to give you, our reader, the chance to tell that special someone just how much you care. Show her or him, the love and romance you have found in a special “Love Letter” printed in our Valentines Day Special Edition. If you would like, you may also include a picture of your choice to be printed beside your admission that you have found the love of your life.
Maybe your special someone is a husband, a wife, a high school sweetheart, crush, a friend, a relative, someone who has made a difference in your life or a love lost. Take this opportunity to say how you really feel.
The cost is $20.00 for your Love Letter and photo, paid in advance at our East Manchester office or by mail: The Manchester Enterprise, P. O. Box 449, Manchester, KY. 40962. All letters must be in our office by February 7, at 12:00 PM.
