Johnson Wins By Landslide

Incumbent Sheriff Kevin Johnson becomes the county’s top vote getter in the May primary with a total number of 3,431 votes. First time candidate Larry “Red” Smith ran a great campaign finishing second in the sheriff’s race with 1,708 votes. Finishing up was Wendell Keen grabbing 448 votes and Clarence Sizemore with 190.

Local Clay County Attorney, Allen B. Roberts won the 41st District Judge Judicial race that consisted of Clay, Jackson and Leslie County.

According to Patrick Robinson, Manchester City Police Assistant Chief, large amounts of Alaprazalem (Xanax), Gabapatin (Neurotin) and Hydrocodone were taken from Rite Aid Thursday morning.
