Well folks, we have ad a couple of days of warm weather and I got to plow out the garden, the onions, peas, potatoes, and cabbage. Everything is coming along real good. Since we’ve had so much rain lately, the peas are getting ready to bloom and we’ve had fresh onions and some of the cabbage are starting to head, and the beans and sweet corn are coming up so the good Lord is good to us, and he knows what we need.
I got a call last week from my good friend Stanley Couch. He sure is a talented man. He makes guitars and mandolins. They are pretty and sound so good. He made a D45 and I’m going to look at it. He makes them out of the same wood that the Martin Company makes them. But they are so much prettier and sound even better. I’ve got one like the one he made for him but the inlay he puts on them are so pretty. He sure is one talented man. As I’ve always said, it’s good to have friends.
Charlie Collins had a birthday this past week and we wish for him to have many more.
Well, I’ve been pretty busy the past week. I’ve put out six bee swarms in new hives and they sure are busy little fellows. It’s amazing to sit and watch them work.
Well May is here and its getting time to plant pumpkin and saw some sunflowers and plant the gourd seed. But you know we can plant and sow. But God gives us the rain and sunshine to make them grow.
Some fold are still sick; Waymon and Joyce Mills, Lee Hicks, Edgar Lawson, also Tina Ann Shute, so pray for all of them. Them ones in the hospital, nursing homes, and the ones at home.
The grand baby is growing and getting into everything. The 17th of May he will be the big number 1. He likes to help me drive the truck and tractor and the lawn mower too. Anything with a steering wheel on it.
Well, this will be all for this week. May God richly bless you and your family. God bless America and may he forever hold you in his hands.

Well, we sure are having plenty of rain here. Almost everyday but the good Lord knows what we need. A lot of kids had a good time here at our house yesterday playing games and hunting eggs. I believe there were about nine dozen eggs hid for the children to find. They had a good time. Its such a joy to watch the little girls and boys hunt for the eggs.
I’ve been sick for a while. I’ve been to the doctor and they gave me medicine. Its helped me some.
Isn’t it amazing to look out and see God’s beautiful things that he created. The trees and the pretty flowers and the grass. Well the garden is coming along pretty well. The onions are big enough to eat and it won’t be long until the cabbage will be making heads and the beans and the corn are coming up and the peas and the potatoes are big enough to plow, and the sweet potato plants are coming up to and the tomato plants are coming up and it won’t be long until they will be big enough to plant. Well yesterday I put three swarms of bees in new hives. That was the most I’ve ever had in one day, and they were so gentle. Its amazing to watch the little things work.
Well some people are sick; Waymon and Joyce Mills, Edgar Lawson, so pray for every one; the ones in the hospital, nursing homes and the ones that are at home. Remember the ones that have lost a loved one this past week.
I want to thank each of you that read my little write up. I want to say hello to my friends the Pelfreys and the Smiths. Way up Virginia way, Sarah, it won’t be about another week until I will be planting the gourd seed that you gave me. I like to watch things grow. I like to get some dirt on my hands. Its good to get out and work in the flower beds and the garden. Some folks said they couldn’t find anything to do around the house. Well, my opinion, they are not looking for anything to do around the house. I sure can find plenty to do.
Well, I’ll stop for this time. May God Bless you and your family this week and God Bless America and may he forever hold you in his hands.
Happy Birthday to Charlie Collins and Little Zoey Faith Allen who is the big number 1. So God Bless you all to have many more.
In memory of Myrtle Reynolds the greatest mom a daughter could ever have and in memory of Roy Swafford my husband, and Bill Reynolds my brother they will always be in my heart, mind, and soul forever. God has got some of the best angels with him.
I am home in Heaven, dear ones; Oh, so happy and so bright; there is perfect joy and beauty in this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over, every restless tossing passed; I am now at peace forever, safely home in Heaven at last.
Did you wonder I so calmly trod the Valle of the Shade? Oh but Jesus Love illumined every dark and fearful glade.
And he came himself to meet me in that way so hard to tread; and with Jesus arm to lean on, could I have one doubt or dread?
Then you must not grieve so sorely, for I love you dearly still; try to look beyond earths shadows, pray to trust our fathers will.
There is work still waiting for you, so you must not idly stand, do it now, while life remains you shall rest in Jesus land.
When that work is all completed, he will gently call you home; oh rapture of that meeting, oh, the joy to see you come.
Love,
Susie Swafford

Well folks we are having plenty of rain lately. Last April we only had one rain and already we’ve had about 10. The ground doesn’t have time to dry out before it rains again, but maybe it will dry out so people can plant their garden.
It’s getting time to plant beans and corn. A lady called me about the Big Goose Beans. I told her she could get them at Louis Market at Hyden, KY. They have got three kinds of Greasy Beans. They have about any kind of garden seed you are looking for.
We have had plenty of company today, and next Sunday we will be having an Easter Egg Hunt after church and having games for the children. Its so much fun just watching them hunt eggs. They always have a good time.
Some people are still sick; Harlie Sibert, Waymon and Joyce Mills, and Edgar Lawson.
Happy Birthday wishes go out to Kyle Jace Munell. He was the Big Number 1 Saturday. He is the grandson of Caleb Wilson. They had him a big party Saturday, so hoping you had a great one little buddy.
Remember all the ones that have lost a loved one this past week. Pray for the ones that are in the hospital and the nursing homes. Some are really in need of prayer at this time. I saw my friend Roger Samples last week down at IGA and he told me how to catch a muskie fish. I really appreciate him. Some people won’t tell you how to catch one or where to catch one. I don’t know why they don’t want anyone else to know.
The weather forecast is more rain today. Well, about July or August we will be wanting some rain, but the good Lord knows what we need.
Gas keeps going up every week, and the grass sure is growing fast. The food prices have gotten higher, along with fertilizer and garden seed. I paid $12.60 for a pound of seed corn, so folks, when you go to the roadside places to buy garden stuff, look to pay more for them. So as I’ve said, everyone that is able, needs to grow a garden.
Well, I’ll stop for this time. May God Richly bless you and your family. God bless America and me, may God forever hold you in his hands.

Boy, Look at the Gas Prices Now
We are having Spring weather now and its wonderful to see everything come to life. The trees are leafing out and the flowers are so pretty and the garden is coming along real well.. I’ll be planting beans and corn this coming week.
We had stormy weather this past week. It rained and hailed. The balls were almost as big as golf balls. The wind blew down a lot of trees here also. But we here in Clay County are so blessed. In a lot of places people lost their homes.
Some people are still sick and in need of prayer: Waymon and Joyce Mills, Edgar Lawson, Tina Ann Sheets, also Linda Sue Hubbard’s grand kids, also Louis, she is Norma Lee Sibert’s grand baby. Lets remember the ones that have lost a loved one that past this past week. Pray for the ones that are in the hospitals and the nursing homes. So many are sick.
I’m still looking for a metal peddle car if you have one I’d sure like to buy one. My number is 598-6348.
The Roots Branch Church will be having their monthly singing this Saturday night starting at 7pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.
The Hickory Chicken will be coming up any time now. They are good if you know how to fix them. I wrote about how you could catch a muskie fish a few weeks ago. I want to know what to use for bait. If you know, call me at 598-6348. I sure appreciate it.
Boy, look at the Gas prices now. Where is it going to stop? Our country is in terrible shape. Our leaders can’t agree on anything but raising their salary. They can agree on that. I wander who is getting the gas prices. Just a suggestion.
Well I’ll stop for this time. May God richly bless you and your family this week and may he forever hold you in his hands.

Well folks, it seems like spring time again. Its pretty and warm here today and it was pretty yesterday. I’m so glad to see warm weather again.
I saw my friend Geraldene Smith this past week and she gave the grand baby a big wheel and he sure liked it. That was so kind of you and we sure appreciate it. Boots has been up there helping take care of Peyton so pray for her.
So many people are sick; Garrison, Edgar Lawson, Waymon and Joyce Mills, also Carl and Ruby Hibbard. A lot of people are sick now with the flew or cold. I guess some have allergies from so much pollen in the air. I’ve got something. I call all night long and I took a lot of medication and I can’t get rid of it. If I get a little better, it always comes back.
Remember all the ones that have lost a loved one this past week. The Hazel Westerfield family. She had been sick for a long time. Remember the ones in the hospital and the nursing home. Pray for Mary Alice Mills. She needs your prayers also. As I’ve always said if you have had trouble or sickness just hold on to your will. We need to pray more and love everybody more as the bible teacher tells us to.. You know that God is love. I saw a lot of friends the other night down at the funeral home.
I’m still looking for a metal pedal car. If you have one call me and I will buy it.
I wasn’t to thank the staff at the Manchester Enterprise for helping me with the write up. They are so good to help me. The grand baby is walking now and getting into everything.
Well I’ll stop for this time. May God bless you and your family. God bless America and may he forever hold you in his hands.
