Shirley Smith

Memorial services will be held Saturday November 20, in North Carolina for Shirley Smith, a former surgical nurse at Memorial Hospital in Manchester.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Mills River Seventh Day Adventist Church, and are open to the public.
Shirley died suddenly at her home in Horse Shoe, NC, Sunday , November 7. She was found there by her husband when he came in from working in the yard.
They became widely known here because of their community involvement and charitable activities.
In addition to her husband Shirley is survived by a son Richard, a daughter-in-law Lorie, and one granddaughter Kristinia, who live near Ashville, NC.

Monroe Jackson

Monroe Jackson, age 58, of Bright Shade, passed away Saturday at the Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by his wife: Linda Faye Jackson and 2 children: Stacey Jackson of Bright Shade and Angela Woods of Goose Rock.
He is also survived by 2 grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Ellis Jackson and Zandell Jackson, both of Lexington, KY., David Jackson and Bruce Jackson of Manchester, Alene Jones of Richmond, KY., Vernandean Haley of Lexington and Norma Jean Dittman of Mississippi.
Funeral services for Monroe Jackson were held Tuesday at 1:00 PM at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Herman Mills officiating. Burial followed at the Hubbard Cemetery at Bright Shade.
Visitation was after 6:00 PM Monday at the Britton Funeral Home.

Melissa Lewis

Melissa Lewis, age 39, of Greenbriar, the daughter of Nannie Mae Bundy, passed away Friday at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington.
Funeral services for Melissa Lewis will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Wayne House officiating. Burial will follow at the Bundy Cemetery at Little Goose.

Maxie Garrison

Maxie Garrison, age 78, of 3rd Street Manchester, KY. passed away at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, KY on November 12th. She was a retired schoolteacher and a member of the Zion Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father: Leah (Nicholson) Murray and Jack Murray and her husbands: Steven Hampton and Walter Garrison and one brother: Cecil Murray.
She is survived by one daughter: Gwen Fouts and husband Frank of London, KY and these grandchildren: Steven Fouts and Samantha Fouts of London, KY and one stepson: Neil Garrison of Jacksonville, FL. She is also survived by these brothers and sister: Billy Murray of London, KY, Lowell Murray of Shoals, IN and Irene Robinson of Manchester, KY.
Funeral services were held on Monday, November 15 at 10:00 AM at the London Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charlie Hubbard officiating.
Visitation was on Sunday, November 14th at 6:00 PM at the London Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Manchester Memorial Gardens.

Mary Etta Smith

Mary Etta Smith, age 51 of Garrard, passed away Wednesday, November 10th, 2010 in London, Kentucky. Funeral services for Mary Etta Smith were held Saturday, November 13th, 2010 at 2 PM at the Chop Bottom Holiness Church with Rev. Willie Smith, Rev. Carl Henson, and Rev. Ted Eversole officiating. Burial followed in the Smith Cemetery in the Granny Branch Community. Visitation was Friday, November 12th, after 6 PM at the Chop Bottom Holiness Church. The Rominger Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
