Rufus Osborne

Rufus Osborne, 76, of Oneida, passed away Saturday at The St. Joseph – London Hospital.

He was a retired Miner.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Osborne and these children:

Rocky Osborne and wife Sheila, Ashley Kip Osborne and wife Bessie, Michelle Good and husband Paul, all of Oneida and Bobby Darnold and wife Joyce, Big Creek.

He is also survived by these grandchildren:

Kendell Lee Osborne, Patrick Ryan Good, Christopher Bryan Good, Shane Nathanial Osborne, Michael Darnold and Bryant Darnold and 1 great grandchild, Holly Darnold, and was preceded in death by his twin grandsons, Joshua Daniel Good and Jacob Nathanial Good.

He is also survived by these sisters, Martha Johnson, Morgantown, Indiana, Bertha Johnson, Greenwood, Indiana, Sally Stone, Indianapolis, Indiana, and Mary Barger, Noblesville, Indiana.

Funeral Services for Rufus Osborne will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Irvin Hill Holiness Church with Sill Lee Raleigh Barger and Carl Henson officiating.  Burial will follow at the Osborne Cemetery at Oneida.

Visitation will be after 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Britton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mayme Robertson

Mayme Robertson, 96, of Oneida, passed away Monday at the Manchester Memorial Hospital.

She was a retired employee of the U.K. Extension Department.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Bonnie Burns & Cindy Gibson, both of Oneida.

Funeral services for Mayme Robertson will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Joey Burns officiating. Burial will follow at the Maxaline Baker Cemetery at Oneida.

Visitation will be after 11:00 AM Thursday at the Britton Funeral Home.

Jerry Sizemore

Jerry Sizemore, 46, of Little Good, the husband of Lisa Gail Sizemore, passed away at the Manchester Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services for Jerry Sizemore were held Monday at 2:00 PM at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Scott Kilburn & James Allen officiating. Burial followed at the Tuttle Cemetery at London.

Patty Lynn Smallwood

Patty Lynn Smallwood, 42. Services 2 PM Monday at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Downey Cemetery in the Gregory Branch Community. Visitation will be Monday after 11 AM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rominger Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

James "Jim" Jones Jr.

James “Jim” Jones, Jr., 79, passed away Wednesday, September, 7, 2011.   Jim was born on August 23, 1932 in Manchester, KY to the late James and Rosa (Hyde) Jones, Sr.  Jim is a U.S. Army veteran.

Jim was a tremendously loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather and will be sadly missed.  Jim was a fabrication technician for Carrier Corp. for 32 years prior to his retiring in 1994.  Jim loves country and bluegrass music. He and his wife Dorothy also enjoyed traveling the country.

Jim is survived by his loving wife Dorothy of 51 years; their children: Paul Jones, Rebecca Ramirez, and Matthew Jones (Evelyn); 7 siblings; 6 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and 2 siblings.

Visitation will be on Sunday, September 11, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood.  The funeral service will be held on Monday, September 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with full military rites offered.   www.forestlawncemetery-fh.com.
