June Estep, 71, of Big Creek, passed away Sunday at the St. Joseph Hospital at London. She was a member of the Flat Creek Church of The Brethren. She is survived by the following children: Debby Henson & husband Frank, Melanie Grubb & husband Richard, all of Goose Rock, Judy Jackson & husband Delmas, & Roberta Rock & husband Mike, all of Goose Rock. She is also survived by these grandchildren, Karen Henson, Kristy Henson, Rebecca Rock, Ashley Jackson Wagers, Alicia Rock & Nathan Jackson & 4 great grandchildren & 1 sister, Fannie Sizemore, London. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Estep & these children: Bobby, Lester & Sharon Estep. Funeral services for June Estep will be held Wednesday at 1:00 PM at the Flat Creek Church of The Brethren with Dwayne Yost & Dave Balmer officiating. Burial will follow at the General Bowling Cemetery at Marcum. Visitation will be after 6:00 PM Tuesday at the Britton Funeral Home & after 11 Wednesday, Church.

Gerald Spurlock, 64, of Oneida, passed away Tuesday at the St. Joseph at London. He was a machine operator & a Viet Nam Army Veteran. He is survived by the following brothers & sisters: John Levi Spurlock, Hamilton, Ohio, Larry Dale Spurlock, Lonnie Spurlock, Judy Harris & Joyce Lainhart, all of Connersville, IND., Foster Spurlock, JR., Evelyn Spurlock, Oneida, Patty Hensley, Alexandria, Ky., Irene Davidson, Lily, KY., Mary Hoskins & Pauline Bowling, both of Big Creek. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews. Funeral services for Gerald Spurlock will be held 11:00 AM Saturday at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Sill Lee officiating. Burial will follow at the Irvin Hill Cemetery at Oneida. Visitation will be after 6:00 PM Friday at the Britton Funeral Home.

Clinton Knuckles, 87, of Manchester, passed away Friday at the Appalachia Regional Hospital at Hazard.
He was the former owner and operator of the Dollar General Store in Manchester and a WWII Army Veteran
He is survived by his wife Lois Knuckles, 1 daughter Kay Dowden and husband Rob and 1 grandson, Nick Dowden, all of Manchester.
Funeral services for Clinton Knuckles will be held at Gravesite at the Greenhills Memorial Gardens at Middlesboro, KY., With Rollin Bradshaw officiating.
Visitation was held 2:30 PM Tuesday at the Britton Funeral Home.
In Lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to the American Heart Association.

Mr. Clarence “Cotton” Gibson, age 85 of London, Kentucky formerly of Clay County went to be with his savior on April 20th, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind his wife of 61 years: Jewell Philpot Gibson, three daughters: Linda (Gary) Meier, Billie Jo (J.D) Hensley, and Melissa (Mark) Roberts, also surviving are these grandchildren: Lloyd (Melissa) Meier, Jennifer (Jody) Bowling, Shannon (Steve) Watkins, Jamie (Phillip) Baker, Codi Roberts, and Macy Roberts. These great grandchildren survive: Tyler Meier, Zachary Hensley, Kelsey Meier, Dylan Baker, Hannah Baker, Jasmine Bowling and Sarah Watkins, and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Delaney and Flora Steele Gibson and 14 brothers and sisters.
He proudly served his country in the European Campaign in World War II as an infantry rifleman and was honorably discharged with a purple heart.
Then he served the people of Clay County as a city policeman and later as Sheriff. He retired as head of security for Interstate Coal.
Cotton was a faithful member of the Lyttleton Baptist Church for over 30 years.
Cotton was an honorable man, loving husband, daddy and papaw. He will be greatly missed; our comfort will be that we will later be with him again in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Funeral Services for Mr. Clarence “Cotton” Gibson will be Saturday, April 23rd, 2011 at 1 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. John Boley and Rev. J. D. Hensley will be officiating. Burial will be in the Manchester Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Friday, April 22nd, after 6 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.

The family of Ola Ruth would like to express our deepest heart felt gratitude to everyone for their prayers, the beautiful singing and words, the flowers and all the food. Ola was a devoted wife to Earnest Ruth of 57 years, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother through 5 generations. Ola loved Jesus with all her heart and her greatest desire was to see all her family and friends to dedicate their lives to the Lord as she did.
