Mrs. Sallie Ann Pennington, age 92, of Burning Springs, passed away Wednesday, March 30th, at the Jackson Manor Nursing Home in Jackson County, Kentucky. She was born March 13th, 1919 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of Benjamin and Margaret Buttery Johnson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Benjamin and Margaret Johnson, and her husband: Eugene Pennington.
She is survived by her daughter: Thelma Wolfe and her husband Hansford Patrick, her son: William J. Pennington and his wife rena Faye, 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 2 greta great grandchildren and her sister: Nancy Johnson of Berea, Kentucky.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sallie Ann Pennington will be Satruday, April 2nd, 2011 at 1 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Brother William Hugh Hudson will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery in the Burning Springs Community.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 2nd, from 12 PM until funeral time at 1 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.

Oather “Pooter” Smith 78, of Sand Hill, passed away Monday at his home. He is survived by his wife, Perley Smith & the following children: Oather Ray Smith, & Alene Mills, Sand Hill, Carolyn Day, Big Creek, & Melinda Wagers, Flat Creek. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Otis Smith & 1 sister, Laddie Smith, both of Sand Hill. He was preceded in death by these sons, Otis Smith, Bobby Smith & Tommy James Smith. Funeral Services for Oather Smith will be held 2:00 PM Thursday at the Mud Lick Church of the Brethren with Dwayne Yost, Dave Balmer, & Steve May officiating. Burial will follow at the Mud Lick Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5:00 PM Wednesday at the church.

Gracie Wagers of Big Double Creek, went to be with the Lord on April 4, 2011. She was Born November 8, 1932 to Albert and Ollie Wagers.
She was the loving wife of Chester Wagers and beloved mother of Larry wagers of Manchester, Ron Wagers (Debbie) of Jackson Co., Paul Wagers(Panny) of Laurel Co., Ollie Carol Loughran (Johnnie) of Big Double Creek. Special daughter in laws Delores Wagers, and Lise Wagers. She alos regarded as a daughter and grand daughter Susanna and Angelica Malkowski. She was preceded in death by her son, George Wagers. She was the grandmother of Kyle, Shawn, Matthew, Kathryn, Joseph, Sarah and Lucas wagers, Melissa Wagers Harmon and Daniel Loughran, as well as a great-grandmother of Alyssa and Elijah Harmon, Alexis and Gabriel wagers.
She was preceded in death by the following siblings: Alice Woods, Dewey Wagers, Bertha Hoskins, Doshia Woods, Edith woods, Huey wagers, Willie Wagers, and Lawrence Gray.
She was survived by her brother Cecil Wagers of West Elton, Ohio and sister in law Nancy Fick of Fairfield, Ohio.
Funeral services for Gracie wagers were held Thursday at 1:00 PM at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with sill Lee, Roy Lane Woods and Fred Caulkins officiating. Burial followed at the Hoskins Cemetery at Double Creek.

Flora “Bootsie” Pennington, age 75 of Manchester, passed away Thursday, March 31st, 2011 at the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin, Kentucky. She was born September 18th, 1935 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of James Amos and Elennor Word Pennington. She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Paul AME Church.
She is survived by her children: Darrell Pennington of Manchester, Paula Pennington of Manchester, Pamela Pennington Boston of Manchester, Jeff Pennington of Manchester, and LEsa Pennington walker of Manchester, and several other children that she raised. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren: James Tee Pennington, Richard Walker and Jessica, Chris Walker and Cam, Jasmine Pennington, and Jeffery Pennington, Jr., 2 great grandchildren: Jecee Madison and Maylen Mya. Also surviving are these brothers and sisters: John Ed Pennington and his wife loraine of Manchester, Ron Pennington and his wife Char of Lexington, Kentucky, Jerry Pennington of Cincinnati, Ohio, Bobbie Buttram and her husband Rev. Sherman of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Sharon Runyon and her husband Phillip of Richmond, Kentucky, her siter-in-law Jackie Pennington, and numerous nieces, nephews, other friends and relatives.
She is preceded in death by her fater: Jim “Bug Eye” Pennington, her mother: Eleanor Word Pennington, her brothers. Pearl Pennington, David Pennington and Gill Pennington, her sister: Virginia Williams her sons: Gary “Bubs” Pennington and Michael hacker, and her special sister friends: Laura Stinson. Flora Hyde, Betty White, Edith Jones and Flora Mae Dockery.
Funeral Services for Flora “Bootsie” Pennington will be held on Sunday, April 3rd, 2011 at 1 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Avis Thompson and Bro. Ken Bolin will be officiating.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 3rd after 11 AM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
