Mrs. Allie Hoskins

Mrs. Allie Hoskins, age 72 of Manchester, passed away Tuesday, June 28th, 2011 at the Manchester Memorial Hospital.  She was born July 29th, 1938 in Knox County, Kentucky to the union of Abe and Addie Wyatt Jarvis.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Friendship Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband: George Hoskins of Manchester, her children: Joyce Smith and her husband Denzil of Goose Rock and Gayla Smith and her husband Lester of Goose Rock.  Also surviving are these grandchildren: Jamie Lee Smith and fiancé Jessica Smallwood, and Leslie LeeAnn Smith, and these sisters: Gracie Hale of London and Mildred Houbner of Somerset.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Abe and Addie Jarvis, and these brothers and sisters: Kenneth Jarvis, Pearl Jarvis, Gilbert Jarvis, Annie Hoskins, Zenner Gabbard, and Luther Jarvis.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Allie Hoskins will be Saturday, July 2nd, 2011 at 1 PM at the Friendship Baptist Church.  Rev. Own Smith and Rev. Russell Jones will be officiating.  Burial will follow in the Blevins Cemetery in the Woolum Community.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 30th, after 4 PM and on Friday at the Friendship Baptist Church.

Minnie Edwards

Minne Edwards, 87, of Sexton Creek, passed away Thursday at The Memorial Hospital.

She is survived by the following children:  Bennie Joe Edwards, Booneville, KY., Delbert Grover Edwards, Manchester, Everett Edwards, Connersville, IN., Linda Hensley, Cincinnati, OH., & Judy Byrd, Newport, KY.

She is also survived by 10 grandchildren & 1 sister, Versie Garrett, Hamilton, OH.

Funeral Services for Minnie Edwards will be held Sunday at 12:00 Noon at The Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Robert Combs, Garnett, Barrett, & Homer Barrett Officiating.  Burial will follow at The Clark Cemetery at Sexton Creek.

Visitation will be after 6L00 p.m. Saturday at The Britton Funeral Home.

Lonzo "Bud" Grubb

Lonzo “Bud” Grubb, 72, of Indianapolis, IND, formerly of Clay County, passed away Thursday in Indianapolis. He is survived by this brother and sisters: Ed Grubb, Burksville, KY., Hazel Ward & Zelma Reynolds both of Indianapolis, IND. Funeral services for Lonzo “Bud” Grubb will be held Monday at 10:00 AM at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Ed Grubb officiating. Burial will follow at the Grubb Cemetery at Garrard. Visitation will be after 6: 00 PM Sunday at the Britton Funeral Home.

Earl Campbell

Earl Campbell 82, of Fall Rock, passed away Wednesday at Brighton, Michigan. He was a member of the Liberty United Baptist Church, a retired employee of the Clay County Board of Education & a US Army Veteran of WWII. He is survived by his wife Sylvia Campbell, 1 daughter, Linda Acuff, Brighton, Michigan. He is also survived by these sisters & brother, Glen Campbell, Virginia Beach, Virginia, Beulah Massey, Fall Rock & Loretta Ferguson, Dayton, Ohio. Funeral services for Earl Campbell will be held Sunday at 11:00 AM at the Liberty United Baptist Church with Chris Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at the Campbell Cemetery at Fall Rock. Visitation will be after 6:00 PM Saturday at the Britton Funeral Home.

Charles "Babe" Dezarn

Charles “Babe” Dezarn, 74, of Slate Lick Road, London Kentucky, passed away June 28th, 2011 at the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin Kentucky.

Charles “Babe” Dezarn was born in Clay County, August 23rd,1936.

“Babe” was preceded in death by his wife Fannie Hyde Dezarn and his parents, Martha Owens Dezarn and Matt Dezarn both of Clay County, Brothers Johnny “Chicken” Dezarn,  and Jack Dezarn, and sisters Nance “Nanny” Crawford, and Gloria Jean Lowe, John Dison, his son-in-law, and one granddaughter, Amanda Nicole Whittymore.

“Babe” leaves behind his daughters, Susan Whittymore, Barbara Dison both of London, Debra Hoskins of Jackson County, and one son, Charles Dezarn Jr., of London.

He is also survived by the following brothers, Dan “Blue John” Dezarn, Paul “Spooley” Dezarn, and Clarence “Nig” Dezarn and his sisters Doris Gross, Esther Roberts and Charlotte Stewart all of Manchester.

He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Charles “Babe” Dezarn will be Friday, July 1st at 6:00 PM, and Saturday, July 2nd at 6:00 PM at the London Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 3rd at the London Funeral Home Chapel with Terry Reed, Lyle Sizemore, Paul Franklin Stewart, and Chase Whits officiating.

Burial will follow at the Rough Creek Cemetery in London Kentucky.
