Russell Lee Wombles

Russell Lee Wombles, age 37 of Manchester, passed away Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011. He was born August 20th, 1973 in Clay County, Kentucky.

He is survived by his sons: Travis Lee Wombles of Manchester and Patrick Hinkle both of Manchester, his fiancé: Jennifer Hinkle, his parents: Opal and Arley Caudill. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Jessee Wombles and wife Martha, Rodney Wombles and wife Chrystal, Billy Joe Caudill and wife Brittney, Michael Caudill and wife Hazel, and Norma Carr and husband Tim, all of Manchester, and Mary Wombles of London, and 7 nieces and 9 nephews.

Funeral Services for Russell Lee Wombles will be Saturday, March 5th, 2011 at 1 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Charles Eversole and Rev. Roscoe Roark will be officiating. Burial will be in the Caudill-Wombles Cemetery in the Beech Creek Community.

Visitation will be Friday, March 4th, after 6 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.

Alyssa Janalee Hoskins

Alyssa Janalee Hoskins passed away on Sunday, March 6th, 2011 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

She is the daughter of Kelly Joan Hoskins and the granddaughter of Darrell and Janet Hoskins. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

Graveside services were held on Tuesday, March 8th, at 2 PM at the Brigmon Cemetery in the Fogertown Community.

Verlie Sizemore

Verlie Sizemore, 79, of Tyner, formerly of bright shade, passed away Tuesday at her home. Funeral services for Verlie Sizemore were held Sunday at 2:00 PM at The Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Kenneth Jones & Reggie Jackson officiating. Burial followed at The Smith Cemetery at Bright Shade.

Thelma Spurlock

Thelma Spurlock, 81, of Springdale, Ohio, Formerly of Clay County, passed away Tuesday at the Hospice of Cincinnati.

Funeral services for Thelma Spurlock were held Saturday at 2:00 PM at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Lonnie Spurlock, Riley Parker and Bill Stapleton officiating. Burial followed at the Irvin Hill Cemetery.

Martha Bowling

Martha Bowling, age 94, went home to be with the Lord on March 4, 2011. She was born on February 15, 1917, but we celebrated her birth on April 6, 1917. She was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac and Drucilla Gibson, her husband, Woodrow Bowling, three sons, Charles Bertram, an infant, Dennis Roy Bowling, and J. C. Bowling. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Ruth Sword. She leaves to mourn her passing daughters Carrie Napier, Edna Griffin, Lois J. Smith and Laura Michelle Bowling, and sons Harold Ray Bowling and Dennis Woodrow Bowling (Buddy) and wife Isabelle, all of Big Creek, Kentucky and son Cleve E. Bowling and wife Zetta of Manchester, Kentucky. She also leaves daughter Sally Gillespie of Louisville, Kentucky and son James Woodrow Bowling (Woody) and wife Geraldine of Norwalk, Ohio. She is also survived by a special adopted daughter, Mary Ann Eshleman and husband, Galen, of Lebanon, Ohio. She is also survived by 34 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren and 27 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at The Flat Creek Church of the Brethren on Monday March 7, 2011 with Cleve Bowling, Dewayne Yost, Steve May and Ernest Smith officiating. Burial was at the Bowling Cemetery at Marcum, KY.
